DURING CONVOCATION
Dress Code for Graduand – MALE
1.0 Dress Code
- It is COMPULSORY for all male graduands to wear a black or dark blue lounge suit with black coloured tie or black Baju Melayu (cekak musang) with dark coloured sampin.
- It is COMPULSORY to wear formal black coloured covered shoes with black socks.
- Graduands must dress in formal and appropriate attire in accordance with the dress code stipulated by the University.
2.0 Grooming Policy
Male graduands are REQUIRED to keep their hair short and neat, ensuring it does not reach the collar of their shirt. The University reserves the right to bar male graduands from participating in the convocation ceremony if their hair exceeds the required length.
Dress Code for Graduand – FEMALE
1.0 Dress Code
- All female graduands should dress decently and abide by the official ceremony dress code:
- The length of the skirt/trousers should be loose and cover the ankle.
- The long sleeve shirt (reaching the wrists) should be neatly buttoned.
- The shirt should cover all parts of the body below the neck.
- It is COMPULSORY to wear formal black court shoes with black or light brown socks.
- Graduands must dress in modest, formal, and appropriate attire in accordance with the University’s dress code.
2.0 Grooming Policy
Female graduands without hijabs/scarves must ensure their hair is neatly tied up or groomed to appear well-groomed.

Dress Code for Guests
To maintain the dignity and formality of the event, all guests are kindly requested to adhere to the following dress code guidelines:
Male Guests
- Long-sleeved shirt with tie, or batik shirt (long-sleeved)
- Formal trousers (no jeans or casual wear)
- Covered formal shoes (no sandals, sneakers, or slippers)
- Traditional wear such as Baju Melayu with sampin is acceptable and welcomed.
Not Allowed for Any Guest
- Ripped jeans, shorts, T-shirts, or sportswear
- Flip-flops or open casual sandals
- Caps, sunglasses (unless medically required), or flashy accessories
- Clothing with loud prints, political slogans, or offensive language
IMPORTANT
The convocation ceremony is a formal occasion. Graduands and guests are advised to adhere to the dress code as stated above. The University has the authority to prevent graduands and guests from attending the ceremony if they do not follow the rules and regulations for the convocation ceremony.

- Long dresses, baju kurung, baju kebaya, or other appropriate traditional wear
- Blouses with long skirts or dress pants
- Covered shoes or formal sandals (no flip-flops or casual slippers)
- Avoid attire that is overly casual, revealing, or inappropriate for a formal occasion.
