External Engagement Initiative
Overview
The Global Engagement Office (GEO) at Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) plays a pivotal role in fostering international collaboration and academic partnerships. Through strategic alliances with universities and institutions worldwide, MUST offers innovative business models such as franchising, dual-degree programs, student mobility initiatives, and faculty exchange programs. These efforts provide students and faculty with enriching cross-cultural academic experiences while enhancing the global reputation of the university. The dual-degree programs allow students to earn qualifications from both MUST and partner institutions, offering broader career prospects. Meanwhile, the student mobility and faculty exchange programs create opportunities for knowledge transfer, cultural immersion, and academic growth, ensuring that students and educators gain a global perspective in their respective fields.
MUST is also actively engaged in Joint International Conferences and Collaborative Research, bringing together scholars, and industry experts from different regions to address global challenges. These initiatives foster innovation, knowledge-sharing, and technological advancements, reinforcing MUST’s position as a globally recognized institution. The university has established a strong international presence in countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Oman, Dubai,Vietnam, Myanmar, China, India, Sri Lanka, and beyond. Through these partnerships, MUST continue to expand its global footprint, providing high-quality education and research opportunities while strengthening academic and industrial ties worldwide.

M.U.S.T hosted a special visit with three esteemed delegates from Indonesia. The event marked the signing of eight Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Direktorat Program Pascasarjana Universitas Sangga Buana YPKP Bandung, Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati (UGJ), Universitas Buddhi Dharma, Universitas Al-Ghifari, Institut Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Bayuangga, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Bengkulu, and Islamic University of 45, Indonesia.

Program : HOSTING DELEGATES FROM THE UNIVERSITAS OF PAKUAN INDONESIA AND MOU SIGNING CEREMONY

MUST was delighted to host Dr. Diana Widiastuti and her delegation from Universitas Pakuan. The visit marked a significant step toward fostering academic collaboration between both institutions.
During the discussion, potential areas of collaboration were explored, including academic programs (PhD, Master’s, and Degree) for Universitas Pakuan faculty members, micro-credential programs, and ISCEA certification programs. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for developing these initiatives further, with the possibility of formalizing the partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement.

MUST welcomed two distinguished delegates from Azerbaijan Technical University, Dr. Bakhtiyar Badalov, Head of the R&D Department, and the Vice-Rector for International Affairs. The visit focused on laying the groundwork for collaboration in faculty exchange, joint conferences, and research funding. Both parties agreed to formalize this partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and expressed strong enthusiasm for commencing the collaboration in 2025.This collaboration is set to achieve impactful results and to be mutually beneficial, thereby strengthening academic and research ties between the two institutions.
