ACCREDITATION OF PRIOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING (APEL)

Admission Criteria for Doctorate (Level 8)

  1. Open to Malaysian and non-Malaysian citizens;

    and

  2. Must be at least 35 years old in the year the application is made for entry into a Doctoral-level programme (APEL T-8);

  3. Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or other qualifications recognized as equivalent.

  4. Must also have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience after completing the Bachelor’s Degree.

  5. Applications for the Doctoral level (APEL T-8) must undergo eligibility screening at the APEL Assessment Centre (PPA) first. If the applicant’s eligibility screening is rejected by the PPA, they may submit an appeal to MQA by referring to the information at the following link.

Assessment Components Doctorate (APEL Level 8)

APEL (T-8) ASSESSMENT COMPONENTS – DOCTORATE LEVEL
Applicable for: Coursework Mode, Mixed Mode, and Research Mode
Component Research Intent & Presentation – Applicants must prepare a Framework of Research Intent based on the format in GGP APEL.A. – The Research Intent must be presented during the assessment. 🔗 Download Research Intent Format

Interview – Duration: Approximately 30 minutes (depending on session requirements). – Focuses on applicant’s work experience and the intended field of study at the higher education institution.
