Overview
The Global Engagement Office (GEO) at Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) plays a pivotal role in fostering international collaboration and academic partnerships. Through strategic alliances with universities and institutions worldwide, MUST offers innovative business models such as franchising, dual-degree programs, student mobility initiatives, and faculty exchange programs. These efforts provide students and faculty with enriching cross-cultural academic experiences while enhancing the global reputation of the university. The dual-degree programs allow students to earn qualifications from both MUST and partner institutions, offering broader career prospects. Meanwhile, the student mobility and faculty exchange programs create opportunities for knowledge transfer, cultural immersion, and academic growth, ensuring that students and educators gain a global perspective in their respective fields.
MUST is also actively engaged in Joint International Conferences and Collaborative Research, bringing together scholars, and industry experts from different regions to address global challenges. These initiatives foster innovation, knowledge-sharing, and technological advancements, reinforcing MUST’s position as a globally recognized institution. The university has established a strong international presence in countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Oman, Dubai,Vietnam, Myanmar, China, India, Sri Lanka, and beyond. Zhuhai College of Science and Technology
Collaboration Visit to Zhuhai College of Science and Technology by Dr. Thanga Thurai
Date: April 2025
Dr. Thanga Thurai representing MUST to Zhuhai College of Science and Technology to discuss potential academic collaborations and explore new opportunities for postgraduate program development. As part of this partnership, both institutions have also consented to provide the necessary services and infrastructure support to ensure the successful implementation of these programs.
GD GOENKA UNIVERSITY
The One Semester Student Exchange Program offers four MUST Bachelor students the chance to study abroad at GD Goenka University in Haryana, India, from August 8th to December 17th, 2024. The participants include Nor Akmal and Owen Ramasamy from the BBA program, Laxman Vetri from the BSCM program, and Daniel Harris from the BIT program. This program provides an excellent opportunity for students to expand their academic knowledge, engage in cultural exchange, and immerse themselves in a different educational environment. While at GD Goenka University, the students will attend classes, take part in various academic and extracurricular activities, and collaborate with peers and faculty. The exchange aims to broaden students’ global perspectives, promote international academic partnerships, and support their personal and professional growth.
Globsyn Business School
Visiting Lecturers to Globsyn Business School under the Franchising Collaboration Program
As part of the mutually agreed collaboration, MUST has assigned a team of distinguished subject matter experts to Globsyn Business School, Kolkata, India, to teach selected courses in the Franchise MBA Program from August to December 2024. This academic engagement underscores MUST’s commitment to academic excellence and international partnership, offering students a dynamic, globally enriched learning experience.

In December 2023, Mr. Lingam and Mr. Faizal from the School of Transportation and Logistics participated in a faculty exchange program with Weifang Vocational College of Engineering, China.

MUST and Vietnam Supply Chain Network (VSCN) Establish Strategic Partnership

This collaboration represents a significant step towards strengthening international academic and industry engagement in the fields of Supply Chain and Logistics, with a shared commitment to advancing education, professional development, knowledge exchange, and talent development.
Through this partnership, MUST and VSCN will collaborate to create greater opportunities for students, professionals, and industry partners while promoting internationally oriented education and strengthening connections between academia and industry. The partnership reflects MUST’s continued commitment to expanding its global network and contributing to the development of future-ready talent in the Supply Chain and Logistics sector.
QTV Group
MUST and QTV Group Strengthen Academic Collaboration

Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) engaged with QTV Group in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 21 July 2026 to strengthen academic collaboration and explore opportunities for international student recruitment. The discussion focused on the proposed appointment of QTV Group as MUST’s Partnership Agent Institution to support the recruitment of students for MUST’s PhD programs in Management, Information Technology, and Transport Logistics. Both parties also discussed a dedicated tuition fee package and commission structure to support the partnership.
Looking ahead, QTV Group expressed strong interest in expanding the collaboration through the potential offering of the MUST MBA in Transport Logistics following the successful implementation of the PhD programmes. The engagement reflects MUST’s continued efforts to expand its international academic network and strengthen its presence in Vietnam, while creating new opportunities for students to pursue postgraduate studies at MUST.
